It appears as though tons of information for Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 has leaked out online. A listing for Far Cry 6 first appeared on the Hong Kong PlayStation Store showing the release date, cover art, plot description, and much more. An English version of this listing was later found as well.
From what the leaked listing shows, Far Cry 6 is set for release on February 18th, 2021. It seems to be set in a fictional location known as “Yara” run by a dictator named Anton Castillo played by actor, Giancarlo Esposito. The listing shows you’ll be playing the role of Dani Rojas, “a local Yaran” working to liberate the nation.
The listing also shows that any purchase of Far Cry 6 on PlayStation 4 will be automatically upgraded to a digital edition if Far Cry 6 on PlayStation 5, identical to what CD Projekt Red is doing with Cyberpunk 2077.
The leaked listing is most likely 100% accurate, and the only question left is when Ubisoft will officially announce Far Cry 6. The best and most obvious guess is this Sunday, July 12th on their Ubisoft Forward digital showcase event. We’ll likely get a reveal trailer, extra info we didn’t get from this leaked listing, and maybe even some gameplay. Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
