Former Blizzard Veterans Start New Game Company Called Dreamhaven

Blizzard is known for its many games that have been played by millions for years such as Diablo, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and much more. In recent years, vets of Blizzard have left the company due to what is believed to be from Activision’s influence. Interviews from the former Blizzard vets and a couple of in-depth articles from Jason Schreier have added further affirmation to these claims.

Whether or not these Blizzard vets would move on to a different company or leave the industry altogether wasn’t known. Both of these conclusions turned out to be false as not only are these vets staying in the industry, they’re making their own studio.

Earlier today, Dreamhaven was officially announced as a new video game company and it already has 2 studios under its banner in Moonshot Games & Secret Door. The company is based in Irvine, CA and Dreamhaven CEO Mike Morhaime (Former CEO & Co-Founder of Blizzard) released a statement on the start-up of his new company.

Dreamhaven CEO, Mike Morhaime

I’m excited to team up with such talented people who care deeply about games and their communities. I’ve always believed in the power of games to bring people together regardless of backgrounds or boundaries. With Dreamhaven, we look forward to creating and sharing new experiences with players everywhere.

You can go to their official website here to look at more info on Dreamhaven such as their members, in-depth details about their studios, and much more. While their first game in no doubt years away, it’ll be intriguing to see what these industry veterans have up their sleeves.
