Nintendo Switch has been riding high for a while now. As of Nintendo’s last quarter results, the Switch is close to passing 80 million units sold in almost 4 years.
We’ve heard for years that a Nintendo Switch Pro will be released. It’s never been a doubt in anyone’s mind that it will come but no one knew when it would arrive. According to this report, we may see it before the end of 2021.
Bloomberg reports that the modified Switch model will have a 7-inch, 720p resolution OLED panel to be manufactured by Samsung Display Co. The panels are set to ship to Switch assemblers around July. Yoshio Tamura, Co-Founder of Display Consultancy DSCC went into a bit more detail on the modified panels.
The OLED panel will consume less battery, offer higher contrast and possibly faster response time when compared to the Switch’s current liquid-crystal display.

The revision of the Nintendo Switch is also said to have 4K graphics when in docked mode (paired with TV).
This is the most reported info we’ve gotten in regards to a Switch Pro ever since the Nintendo Switch was released in March of 2017. One thing is for sure, the revision of the Nintendo Switch was always coming and now it seems as though that time is approaching.
