For those who aren’t familiar with Jade Raymond, she’s been in the gaming industry for a while. She was at Ubisoft for the majority of her career and took part in the creation of the first Assassin’s Creed game. Since then she’s delved in with EA and Google Stadia for the past 6+ years.
Raymond left Google Stadia in February and her next move is now known. Sony has announced in a PlayStation Blog post that an independent studio in Montreal is being formed. The game is going to be made exclusively for PlayStation and the studio itself will be headed by Jade Raymond and named Haven.
In the blog post, Raymond talked about the goals she had with forming Haven. You can read this excerpt from the blog post below:
If a prediction were to be made about when we hear what Haven is working on, it’ll likely be late 2022. Haven is independent so the success of their first game will be the main factor in the direction of their studio in the future. As of now, only time will tell.
