Gotham Knights was first revealed at DC FanDome in August of 2020. The game is being developed by WB Games Montreal and published by Warner Bros. themselves. Gotham Knights follows the Batman Family (Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin) and their goal to protect Gotham City.
When this title was first announced at DC Fandome we received a world premiere trailer and a gameplay walkthrough as well. Gotham Knights was originally set to release in 2021 but a recent announcement on the Gotham Knights social media pages confirms that the game will not be coming this year.
They’ve said that they’re “giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players”. This isn’t the first major game delay to 2022 as Hogwarts Legacy was also delayed into 2022 earlier this year. One has to wonder if more major releases such as God of War: Ragnarok (not confirmed as official name), or Suicide Squad will also be delayed, only time will tell.
Gotham Knights is set for release in 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
