The demand for the PlayStation 5 hasn’t stopped since the console was first released back in November of 2020 and that demand doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. As announced in their recent quarterly earnings, the PlayStation 5 has officially sold 7.8 million units since its launch.
According to Sales Analyst, Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, the PlayStation 5 has surpassed what the PlayStation 4 has sold in the same timeframe by 200,000 units.
With these unit sales for PlayStation and the recent news that the Xbox Series X|S hardware revenue grew enormously due to demand for Microsoft’s new consoles, it’s safe to say a lot of people are still trying to get their hands on these systems.
With PS5 exclusives like Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on the way, we’re finally starting to truly begin the full transition into next-gen.
