It’s been nearly a year since we saw our first look at Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to the 2017 release of Horizon Zero Dawn. The announcement trailer was revealed at the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June of last year.
Since then we’ve seen absolutely nothing new in terms of footage. We’ve received a couple of brief statements on the game here and there. President & CEO of SIE, Jim Ryan recently confirmed that the title is still set to launch this year. Today, Guerrilla Games and Sony have confirmed when we’ll see another look at Horizon Forbidden West in almost a year.
A live State of Play showcase is set for this Thursday, May 27 on Twitch and Youtube at 9AM PT/12 PM ET. In a PlayStation Blog post, Horizon Forbidden West Game Director, Mathijs De Jonge confirmed that we’ll see 14 minutes of gameplay featuring Aloy. It’s also worth noting that the footage we’ll see is going to be captured on the PlayStation 5.
Horizon Forbidden West is set for release in 2021 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
