Ubisoft dropped a big title at the end of their Ubisoft Forward showcase. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was officially announced with a reveal trailer and it uses the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine.
Frontiers of Pandora will be a first-person, action-adventure game, there’s no word on if it’ll be linear or open-world, but I would bet on the latter.
You “play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.”
One thing that’s worth noting is that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, Luna, and won’t release on last-gen hardware. One has to wonder about the scope of this game if it’s Ubisoft’s first game releasing exclusively on next-gen consoles. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set for release in 2022.
