Guardians of the Galaxy has proven to be a massive IP for Marvel Studios in terms of movies. We haven’t seen the potential for Guardians in terms of the gaming industry. There was the episodic game from the now-defunct, Telltale Games but it wasn’t necessarily a major game.
Square Enix has announced at their “Square Enix Presents” event that Eidos-Montréal is developing a brand new single-player Guardians of the Galaxy game that is set for release on October 26, 2021.
The reveal trailer which you can view above and the first look at gameplay which you can view below took up a majority of Square Enix’s showcase.
Guardians of the Galaxy was meant to be the highlight from Square Enix today. It’s also evident that this has been in development for a while since the release date is so soon. According to Square Enix, Peter Quill/Starlord is the only playable character for Eidos-Montréal’s next title.
Guardians of the Galaxy is set for release on October 26, 2021, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
