As of this current console generation, Xbox is the last console that still uses batteries for its controller. I don’t know about anyone reading this but I prefer a chargeable controller rather than a controller that requires batteries. When I got my Xbox Series console, I knew I’d be getting a charging station very soon afterward.
That directed me to look online at potential options, which resulted in the discovery of the PowerA Xbox Dual Charging Station. I’m no stranger to PowerA as a brand so I knew that their products would be one of the best on the market.

The Dual Charging Station comes in two colors, white & black. I went with the black option since it’s the color I more personally prefer. The contents inside the box will include the charging station, a power cord, two rechargeable batteries, a user manual, and four charge-thru battery doors (two for Xbox One, two for Series X|S).
Setup is fairly simple and not complicated in the slightest. Put one of the recharge batteries in your controller and then put on the battery door for your respective controller (it’ll be labeled A for One and B for Series X|S). When you put your controller(s) on the charging station, there will be an orange LED light that will appear. Orange means the controller is charging, White appears on the LED light when it’s done. Set-up takes about 2-5 minutes and could not be any more straightforward.

Changing can take up to 2 hours and the Controller itself can last a couple of days in my experience. I’ve had this Charging Station for a few weeks and it has worked exactly as intended. I know many aren’t massive fans of controllers that require batteries and I’m here to tell you that this is the option that works and functions as intended and remarkably well.
It also helps that this product isn’t overpriced. It’ll vary based on location, but most retailers will have this available at around $25. The best part is whether you’re on Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S, the product functions with either console.

I couldn’t find much fault with the Dual Changing Station if I tried. It works as intended, it’s not overpriced, and it’s straightforward to set up. If you’re someone with an Xbox looking to obtain charging equipment for your controller, I recommend PowerA’s product.
Pros
- Works on Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S
- Easy to Set Up
- Quick Charge & Long Use Time
