God of War Live-Action Series In The Works For Amazon Prime

God of War has been one of if not the most successful franchises under PlayStation. The most recent installment God of War (2018) brought a new look to the series as well as a ton of new fans. As of August 2021, God of War (2018) has 19.5 million copies and has also had a successful PC release earlier this year. Not to mention, a new installment in God of War Ragnarok is set to release later this year on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. With upcoming projects such as The Last of Us HBO series, Twisted Metal coming to Peacock, a movie for Ghost of Tsushima, and the recent release of Uncharted in movie theaters, PlayStation seems committed to bringing more gaming IPs to film.

That leads us to today’s story of a God of War live-action series coming to Amazon Prime. The report comes from Deadline and states that the adaptation will come from “The Expanse creators/executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby and The Wheel of Time executive producer/showrunner Rafe Judkins”. Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions will produce the show, most likely along with Amazon Studios.

Any casting roles and release timeframes are unknown at this time. Is a Live-Action God of War series something you’re looking forward to?
