Last year, Haven Studios was formally announced. The studio is located in Montreal, QC, and is led by the founder of Ubisoft Toronto and Motive Studio, Jade Raymond. The studio entered into a partnership with PlayStation to create a brand new AAA multiplayer experience. Now a little over a year later, PlayStation has acquired Haven.
The news was formally announced in a PlayStation Blog post. Head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst stated that they’ve “been impressed by the studio’s growth and progress.” Jade Raymond also released a statement regarding the acquisition which you can read below.
Not much else is known about Haven’s new project other than the fact that it’s multiplayer and a new IP. However, based on certain wording in this blog post, it seems development is going well and we may not have to wait too much longer to see what they’re working on.
