Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake Officially Announced; Developed By Remedy Entertainment

In an announcement that has come completely out of left field, Remakes of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne have been announced. In the announcement post, the remake is said to be released as a single game and is being developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Rockstar Games as part of a new agreement. The game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC using the Northlight game engine.

Co-Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, and CEO of Remedy, Tero Virtala have both released statements on the news.

We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games. We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years, and we can’t wait to play these new versions.

At this time, the remake is in the concept stages of development and does not have a release timeframe.
