Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed From April 16th To September 17th

Just after the delay of Two Square Enix Games in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers, we’ve got another game delay from CD Projekt Red. Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed from April 16th to September 17th.

CD Projekt Red released the news today via Twitter citing that Cyberpunk 2077 is “complete and playable” but is being delayed because of the need for more time to “finish playtesting, fixing and polishing”.

The delay itself is pretty hefty, the game is coming out a whole 5 months from its original scheduled release in April. The announcement on Twitter also stated that we can “expect more regular updates” as Cyberpunk 2077 gets closer, so that hefty delay shouldn’t be too dry.

After the news of the delay, we got more info on the multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077. In an investor call, we got the news that multiplayer isn’t set to launch until after 2021, which was a given after the delay considering CD Projekt Red said the multiplayer component will be its own huge standalone expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now set for release on September 17th on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
