Ghost of Tsushima has been out for over two months and can be classified as a success on all levels, critically and financially. Sucker Punch wasn’t done with this world yet, in August they announced Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a major co-op multiplayer update.
We went over the basics of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends back at its announcement in August. It’s based on Japanese Mythology and will have survival missions with up to 4 players. The game mode has an official release date of October 16th. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Senior Game Designer of Sucker Punch, Darren Bridges revealed a ton of details as it pertains to Legends along with a new trailer.
Ghost of Tsushima has two-player story missions along with four-player survival missions. There will also be a Raid mode that’ll release in the following weeks after its release on October 16th. Speaking to Gyozen (a new character that will appear following the update) will have him share stories about the “Ghosts” and also result in a lobby unlock for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
2-Player Story Missions will guide you through Ggozen’s stories and in turn, will result in a bigger risk, higher reward type of experience. 4-Player Survival Missions will have you and three other players fighting off waves of enemies, the longer you survive, the more rewards you’ll get. Raid is a 4-Player three-part adventure that requires excellent teamwork and communication in order to conquer the challenge.
There are 4 different classes in Ghosts of Tsushima: Legends and each one has its own unique advantages and abilities compared to the others. Each class has its own different description from the Blog.
Samurai

Samurai players can run straight toward combat and stay there, sustaining their health while chopping enemies down left and right. When you’re overwhelmed, use the Hachiman’s Fury ultimate attack to slash through enemies in a flurry of strikes.
Hunter

As a Hunter, you can stand on the edge of combat and snipe enemies before they even see you. You can also use explosive arrows to slow down groups, and when the combat gets really fierce, the Eye of Uchitsune ultimate attack will unleash multiple arrows straight at your enemies’ heads.
Ronin

Ronin players can revive their entire team with the Breath of Izanami ultimate ability. You might play Ronin because you want to help your human friends… or you might do it because the Ronin class is also able to summon a Spirit Dog. (And yes, you can ABSOLUTELY pet your Spirit Dog!)
Assassin

If you prefer doing massive damage with a single attack, you’ll love the Assassin. The Shadow Strike ultimate attack will allow you to teleport across the battlefield and directly strike your enemies. If that’s not intimidating enough, wait until you see the terrifying masks the Assassin gets to wear!
Cosmetics in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be unlocked through gameplay only with NO microtransactions.

Photo Mode is present in Legends and will give you an opportunity to showcase all the new items you’ve earned such as armor or emotes.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is sure to be a hit when it releases on October 16th, with next-gen consoles relasing next month, Sucker Punch is certainly leaving this generation behind with a bang.
