Over 5 years ago, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released to the world and has since received critical acclaim and has sold over 20 million copies. The game is playable right now on all current-gen consoles and PC.
CD Projekt Red is not only leaving with that success on this generation of consoles but also taking that success with them on the next generation of consoles. CD Projekt Red officially announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The next-gen upgrade will receive visual and technical improvements, ray tracing, and faster loading times. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available as a standalone purchase on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. A free update to next-gen will be available for owners of the action RPG on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
There is no current timetable for when we’ll get the upgraded version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. With Cyberpunk 2077 releasing in just a few short months, it’s best to assume we won’t hear much more about the next-gen edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt until next year.
