Rockstar Games Announces Biggest Update To GTA Online, The Cayo Perico Heist

GTA Online has been receiving updates for the better part of 6 years now. Rockstar has crafted an online experience that has left many players coming back with each update that is put out.

Whether it was the first Heists update in 2015 or the Casino update in 2019, GTA Online has had a steady stream of content coming its way and that doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Rockstar teased a big GTA Online announcement yesterday through a 10-second clip.

As with most Rockstar announcements (Red Dead Redemption 2), when something is teased you can expect the official announcement to be made relatively soon afterward. This update was no exception, just one day after the tease, Rockstar announced their biggest GTA Online update yet, The Cayo Perico Heist.

The Cayo Perico Heist adds an all-new location to the map that features a new heist that can be played solo or with up to three players. As with most updates, there will be new vehicles and weapons but this update will also add over 100 new songs to the radio station.

Along with this info came the official synopsis and announcement trailer for the Cayo Perico Heist which you can view below.

It’s time to raise the stakes higher than ever before. You’ve broken a convicted spy out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary. You’ve saved the world from an egomaniacal tech billionaire. And you’ve beaten the odds to drain a casino of its cash. This time, you’re taking on an entire island.
