Last year, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 was released to critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. It’s looked at as one of the best games of 2020 due to the developer, Vicarious Visions bringing their skill to remake the classic Tony Hawk games from years ago.
It looks like the studio’s solo developing days are gone, with the recent announcement from Activision Blizzard. The publisher confirmed with GamesIndustry.biz that Vicarious Visions will be omitted from Activision and will instead be merged into Blizzard.
The studio will join tons of other developers at Blizzard in developing upcoming titles. ahe move is a bit surprising considering the success of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2. It seems as though Blizzard is full steam ahead on its upcoming releases and expansions and are starting to ramp up their production.
What Vicarious Visions joined Blizzard to work isn’t officially known, but most speculate it’s more than likely the upcoming Overwatch 2, only time will tell.
